Musharraf to be indicted on March 11
ISLAMABAD: Special Court hearing the treason case against former President General Pervez Musharraf rejected the appeal filed by Musharraf's counsels for transfer of the case to a military court, ARY News reports on Friday.
The court, in its verdict, said that only the Special Court can hear the high treason case.
It is further stated in the judgment that the military court reference, that was provided by the defence, has been finished. The court further said that Army Act of 1977 was declared void in 1981.
Army Act is not applicable to the retired military officers, it was added.
Earlier, the court had reserved its verdict on the petition in the previous hearing of the case.
The court has also summoned Pervez Musharraf on March 11 to frame charges in the case.
Musharraf had challenged the jurisdiction of the court.
