ISLAMABAD: Defence Counsel representing former President Pervez Musharraf and Prosecutor Akram Shaikh exchanged heated words during the hearing of treason case here in Islamabad on Monday, ARY News reports.
The case was heard by a special bench headed by Justice Faisal Arab.
Defence lawyer Khalid Ranjha told the court that the plea of shifting the trial to a military court should not be considered as the confession of crime. He added that a trial of a military man will be held in the military court even after his retirement.
Khalid Ranjha further said that the court cannot hold a military man under trial. “It can only hear civilian cases”, he added.
The bench adjourned the hearing of the case till tomorrow.
