RAWALPINDI: Federal Interior Minister, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that the nation and all the institutions are united regarding terrorism in the state, whereas General (R) Pervez Musharraf is using the name of military in order to defend himself – ARY News reports.
Addressing the inauguration ceremony of the regional passport office here on Tuesday, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan clarified that there is no military offensive ongoing in North Waziristan, holding talks is our first priority and the next few days are expected to bring further advancement, as a team has been formed for negotiating with Taliban.
Speaking about National Security Policy, he stated that its draft is ready and soon it shall be tabled before the Cabinet.
Commenting on Pervez Musharraf's treason trial, the Interior Minister said that Musharraf during his reign misused military's name and now is he using it to defend himself.
He added that the ones criticizing the Government should compare the past five years with first 6 months of the current regime.
Nisar however declared Chaudhry Shujaat's statement about inflation to be positive.
Regarding law and order in Karachi, he stated that Rangers is desired to be empowered further after consultation with the Sindh Government.
