ISLAMABAD: Standing Committee of the National Assembly on Interior has approved the Tahaffuz-e-Pakistan Bill – ARY News reports.
According to details, the meeting of the committee was held earlier today at the Parliament House during which the committee approved the Tahaffuz-e-Pakistan Bill.
Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) member, Nabeel Gabol while opposing the bill, suggested providing 30 days of timeframe to an accused for presenting clarification rather than giving him into custody.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) member, Arif Alvi expressed his concerns that some clauses of the bill can be used against political workers.
The bill will be forwarded to the National Assembly for consultation with opposition.
