NA resolution seeks holidays for minorities on Holi, Deewali and Easter

 ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly has passed a resolution recommending the government to take steps to declare Holi, Deewali and Easter closed holidays for minorities.

The resolution was moved by Dr Ramesh Kumar Vankwani, reported the Radio Pakistan.

Besides, the House also passed a resolution moved by Muhammad Muzammil Qureshi saying the government should take steps to formulate Umrah Policy to facilitate people, especially in the month of Ramazan and control exploitation by private operators.

Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf told the House that the government is already working to formulate Umrah Policy to facilitate the people.

Parliamentary Secretary for Finance Rana Muhammad Afzal Khan said the forms for the census have been designed according to the international best practices which also provide details about the disabled persons.

He hoped that the census will be held soon.
