NA Secretariat issues details of taxes paid by PM Sharif

According to issued details, 12 companies owned by the Sharif family paid taxes worth nearly Rs 10 billion from 1993 to 2016. The prime minister individually paid Rs 360 million in taxes in 24 years (1993-2016).

The yearly details of tax paid by the Sharif family is as follows:

Rs 10 crore 42 lac in 1993-94

Rs 27 lac and 70 thousand in 2009-10

Rs 32 lac and 52 thousand in 2010-11

Rs 36 lac and 83 thousand in 2011-12

Rs 45 lac and 47 thousand in 2012-13

Rs 46 lac and 53 thousand in 2013-14

Rs 41 lac and 57 thousand in 2014-15

Rs 24 lac and 98 thousand in 2015-16

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, while addressing the National Assembly on Monday, had presented documents detailing taxes paid by him and his family. In an indirect reference to Imran Khan and Jahangir Tareen, the PM also asked them to explain how their journey started and what were their sources of income.

“We [Sharif family] paid Rs 10 billion taxes in past 23 years, while I personally paid Rs 36 million,” he had stated before the House.
