NAB cannot prolong proceedings against corrupt elements

QUETTA: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) chairman Justice retired Javed Iqbal has said that they have full respect for everyone including politicians, but cannot allow an indefinite delay in proceedings against corrupt elements.

The NAB chairman expressed these views while reviewing the performance of NAB Balochistan at Quetta office. He said that all those involved in corruption are the ‘enemy of the state’ and action will be action against them.

He said that that corruption has increased debts which have increased to 90 billion dollars and now the next five generation will be paying the debts.

He said that NAB is playing its full role to act against corrupt elements and taking concrete measures to prevent corruption in all development projects.

“NAB does not look at the face of the suspect, and instead focuses on the case and allegations against them,” he said, adding that the anti-graft body was performing its duties according to the law to eradicate corruption.

He said the main purpose of NAB is not only to punish corrupt elements but also recover the looted money so ongoing development projects could be completed.

The NAB chairman instructed to decide all mega corruption and other cases within the determined time, and directed to improve performance of NAB Balochistan.

He vowed the policy of zero tolerance against corruption and said that they will continue following the policy of ‘accountability for all’ and their serve to serve the nation.
