NAB has written a number of letter to the provincial and district governments for dispatching them the lists containing names of students, teachers and notables from districts, towns and union council level for their registration.
The accountability watchdog is holding CBC meetings to create awareness among masses against corruption and how to stand up against the corrupt elements. The basic objective behind is to prepare society which can help NAB authorities in the eliminating corruption.
The NAB authorities have arranged its first meeting in Lahore on 31st May and had sent intimations to all the districts two months back for dispatching it names from civil society as well as focal persons from all districts and EDOs Education with the objective of coordination. Despite repeated reminders, there are over 24 districts in Punjab which have not yet sent a single name to NAB.
The districts which are yet to dispatch names include Chiniot, Faisalabad, Jhang, TT Singh, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Hafizabad, MB, Narowal, Lahore, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Nankana, , Kasur, Sarghodha, Khushab, Mianwali, Bhakkar, Sahiwal, Pakpattan and Okara.
NAB authorities have sent a strong-worded letter to the District Coordination Officers of all abovementioned districts for not showing any cooperation and directed them for sending the names as early as possible because they are left with four days to hold the meeting.
