Nadra files forensic report of NA-122 in election tribunal

Speaker Ayaz Sadiq of PML-N was returned winner in the Lahore National Assembly constituency in 2013 general elections  against PTI Chief Imran Khan.

NADRA submitted its forensic report of the votes in NA-122 to the election tribunal Judge Kazim Ali Malik in the hearing today.

The court provided the copies of the forensic report to the parties of the case.

The judge summoned Director Nadra in the next hearing of the case, which was adjourned till May 16.

Shoaib Siddiqui,the counsel of Imran Khan, informed the media that the Nadra report comprises of 781 pages, which says that 1,84,000 votes were cast in the constituency during the election. He said according to the report 93,582 votes could not be authenticated. 73,478 votes were confirmed through thumb impressions.

He further said that 570 voters were not registered in the constituency, while there were no thumb impressions on 1715 counterfoils of the ballot papers. According to the report 6123 votes were cast on bogus national identity cards and 255 votes were on duplicate cards, the PTI counsel further said. The counsel claimed that the rigging has been proved in the constituency.

Speaker Ayaz Sadiq’s son Ali Ayaz said that the report has just been received and he will comment on it after studying the report.
