Naeem Rashid’s mother issued visa to attend last rites: FM Qureshi

ISLAMABAD: Keeping in view her earnest desire to attend the last rites, the government has issued visa to the mother of Naeem Rashid, a martyred in New Zealand mosque attacks, on emergency basis, said Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Sunday.

FM Qureshi said that Baidaar Aapa, in her 80s, who lost her son and grandson in the Christchurch mosque attack, had expressed her wish to attend the last rites of her beloveds in New Zealand.

He said that the government would provide every possible assistance to the heirs of Christchurch attacks and added that an special cell had been formed to resolve the issues and difficulties of the heirs on emergency basis. The minister said that the government and the nation were sadden over the Christchurch incident.

Earlier in the day, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Sunday said that Pakistani flag will remain half-mast at all national buildings on Monday (tomorrow) to mourn Christchurch terror attack.

The attacks on two mosques by a right-wing terrorist left 50 people dead and bullet injuries to several others on Friday.

This he had said while addressing a news briefing in Islamabad.
