Nation celebrates Eid-ul-Azha with religious fervor

KARACHI/ISLAMABAD: The nation is celebrating Eid-ul-Azha today with great religious zeal and fervor to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of Prophet Hazrat Ibrahim (AS).

The day dawned with special prayers in mosques for well-being of Muslim Ummah and progress, prosperity and security of the country.

Eid congregations were held at mosques, Eidgahs and open places in all cities, towns and villages across the country.

Ulema and Khutaba in their sermons, highlighted significance of the day and philosophy of the sacrifice.

In the federal capital, the main Eid congregation was held at Faisal Mosque where Federal Ministers, politicians and parliamentarians present in Islamabad, Muslim diplomats and notables joined thousands of faithful in prayers.

After offering Eid prayers, the faithful slaughtered their sacrificial animals in pursuance of Sunnat-e Ibrahimi.

KARACHI

President Mamnoon Hussain offered Eid prayer in Karachi.

He especially prayed for Pakistan’s security, prosperity and development.

The main congregation of Eid was held at Gulshan-e-Jinnah (Old polo ground) where Federal Minister for IT Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui, Members of the National and Provincial Assemblies and other notables offered Eid prayer.

Later talking to media persons, Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui expressed hope that nation will get the benefits of change in the country.

PESHAWAR

In Peshawar, Eidul Azha congregations were held at over two hundred places.

The main congregation of Eidul Azha was held at Eidgah Charsadda Road, Peshawar.

The Acting Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani offered Eid prayer in his native area, Abbottabad.

Chief Minister Mehmood Khan offered Eid prayer at Peshawar. Similar congregations were held in all areas of the province.

QUETTA

In Quetta, Eid prayers were offered at more than two hundred places while the main Eid prayer congregation was held at Eidgah Toghi Road Quetta.

Governor Balochistan, Muhammad Khan Achakzai is celebrating Eid-ul-Azha at his native town Gulistan, while Chief Minister Mir Jam Kamal Khan and Deputy Speaker National Assembly Muhammad Qasim Khan Suri are celebrating Eid in Quetta respectively.
