ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif has said that the nation has a habit of pilferation, ARY News reports on Tuesday.
Speaking to media during a meeting of Pak-China Energy Planning Working Group, Khwaja Asif said that provincial governments alongwith key institutions are involved in pilferation.
He further said that he had told the federal government the amount payable to provinces should have been given after deducting the arrears but the government is facing opposition from the provinces.
The federal minister of power and water said that the joint ventures with China in the power sector will begin this year due to which five to six thousand megawatt energy will be produced.
