Nawaz holds meetings with political parties

ISLAMABAD: The government’s efforts to cool political tensions in the country are underway as Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is holding meetings with the delegations of political parties in Islamabad, ARY News reported on Thursday.

Sharif held meetings with the delegations of People’s Party, Awami National Party and National Party.

A delegation of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) will also meet Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Governor of Sindh Dr. Ishratul Ebad has also been in Islamabad and will be accompanied with the MQM delegation, sources said.

People’s Party’s Senator Raza Rabbani and Awami National Party’s Senator Haji Adeel after meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that they advised the Prime Minister to withdraw enforcement of Article 245 in Islamabad. They said they advised the government to avoid crackdown and arrests of political workers.

They also suggested Imran Khan to hold talks for resolution of his grievances.

National Party leader Hasil Bizenjo while talking to media after meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that his party will not support any move to derail the democracy.
