GUJRANWALA: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the the Nandipur Power Project in Gujranwala, ARY News reported on Saturday.

The first turbine of the power plant generating 100 megawatts in its testing phase.

The project that will be completed in December this year will add 425 megawatts of power to the national electric grid.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that the work on the first turbine of the plant has been completed before the expected time.

Earlier, Chief Minister of Punjab Shahbaz Sharif addressing the inauguration ceremony, criticised the previous government, stating that for 3 years the machinery for the Nandipur Power Project was lying at the Karachi Port.

Federal Minister for Water and Power Khawaja Asif and other dignitaries were also present during the inaugural ceremony of the power project.
