LAHORE: Punjab Information Minister Fayazul Hasan Chohan said Nawaz Sharif, ousted prime minister, had been given complete protocol [in his detention], ARY News reported.

He said Sharif’s medical report would soon come out and it had no serious indicators regarding his health. “Only a stone in detected in his kidney,” he added.

Earlier in the day, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Ahsan Iqbal claimed that Nawaz Sharif was kept in a hospital without cardiac ward. But the government rejected the claim.

The minister said media reports say that Sharif didn’t suffer any cardiac arrest in the past.

“I personally believe that Nawaz Sharif’s condition is okay, but his intention’s not,” remarked the minister.

The provincial information minister said his party was receiving messages from jail that “give us the same protocol that Nawaz Sharif has been given in the jail.”

He disputed claims from PML-N that he hurled abuses on their leaders. “Browse the history of my statements in last six months, and you won’t find any of my comments with personal comments on anyone.”

He said, on the contrary, Rana Sanaullah foul-mouthed his opponents many a times.

To a question regarding Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), Chohan said Saeed Ghani was an honest man, but he was under influence of Asif Ali Zardari.

He said the PPP and PML-N were working hand in hand as their leaders arrive in the assemblies together.
