Nawaz Sharif to undergo medical tests at Sharif Medical City today

LAHORE: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif is likely to undergo more medical tests at Sharif Medical City (SMC) for the sixth time on Monday, ARY News reported.

Medical examination will be undergone by his personal physician and other medical experts.

Nawaz Sharif had undergone many medical tests including Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan and electrocardiogram (ECG) after his release 20 days ago.

On April 12, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif had undergone medical tests again for the fifth time at Sharif Medical City to evaluate his health condition.

The medical tests were conducted by a team of neurosurgeons and Nawaz’s personal physician Dr Adnan in order to normalise his blood circulation.

The examination was continued until one hour at SMC. Nawaz Sharif is suffering from diseases of cardiac, kidneys, sugar and low-blood circulation to the brain.

On March 30, physicians had prescribed monitoring his heartbeat by fixing a Holter at his chest the next week besides carrying out echo test. They also mulled over the possibility of implanting a pacemaker.

The decision about both the tests was taken as Nawaz Sharif’s ECG showed abnormalities, according to reports.

A team of medical experts also detected disturbed blood flow through the left artery of his heart. Besides, the doctors also decided to test his eyesight in view of finding higher blood glucose levels.

On March 26, the Supreme Court had granted erstwhile prime minister Nawaz Sharif bail for six weeks on medical grounds.
