Nawaz Sharif will be responsible if ‘third power’ steps in after protest: Imran

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf chairman Imran Khan on Sunday accused the opposition of backing Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif for their own face saving. 

Imran, while speaking to the media said that those advising them against street agitation were themselves beneficiary of status quo and corruption.

He said that Nawaz Sharif was himself responsible for sit-ins and protests. He expressed hope that the Supreme Court will punish Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in Panama Papers case hearing.

He also mentioned about the controversial news story against a leading daily newspapers, and said all indications towards leaking of information leads to the government.

He claimed that government cannot stop people from taking to the streets. “It’s our right to protest when state institutions have been paralyzed by the government,” he remarked.

He said Nawaz Sharif will be responsible if any ‘third power’ takes power, and the government will suffer if they tried to stop the ‘sea of people.’

‘I don’t accept a culprit as PM’

Addressing a rally in Dera Ismail Khan, Imran said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had bought a media house to mislead the public.

He was of the view that people of Islamabad and Rawalpindi stood by him. He warned that police would suffer strong response if they tried to stop PTI marchers.

He urged masses to stand up for their rights and said ‘it is the right time to change their destiny’. Khan regretted that masses were suffering from poverty while the Sharif family was making the most of its authority.
