LAHORE: The Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) on Thursday  said that former prime minister and party head Nawaz Sharif will not appear before the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) on August 18 (tomorrow), ARY News reported.

PML-N spokesman Asif Kirmani earlier confirmed that Nawaz will appear before the NAB team but denied it hours after the first announcement.

The PML-N spokesman even denied having received NAB’s notice.

Commenting on the development, ARY News Islamabad Bureau Chief Sabir Shakir said the Sharif family was using delaying tactics and they wanted to delay it till October as chairman NAB will retire in this month and in absence of the chairman, NAB  would become dysfunctional.

NAB had summoned Nawaz Sharif, his sons Hussain Nawaz and Hasan Nawaz for investigation in Azizia Mills case on August 18.

The NAB team has traveled to Lahore to record the trio’s statement.
