Nawaz should hand over Prime Ministership to someone else: Iftikhar Chaudhry

According to details, ex-Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry held a press conference and asked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to resign as the Premier of the country.

“If the Prime Minister does not resign, then tensions will further rise,” he said. “Nawaz Sharif should hand over the Prime Ministership to someone else,” he added.

The former Chief Justice further said that the Nawaz-led Pakistan Muslim League N (PML-N) held a majority in the parliament hence Sharif had the option to make anyone the Prime Minister. “The Prime Minister is facing allegations of money laundering,” he said.

Speaking on the subject of Panama leaks further, Ifktikhar Chaudhry said that there was currently no political party in Pakistan that stood for accountability since everyone was involved in corruption, one way or the other.
“No party in Pakistan stands for ruthless accountability,” he said. “Whether it be possessing financial wealth, properties abroad or tax evasion, everyone is involved seems to be involved in corruption,” he finished.

The former Chief Justice also said that currently, there were strangers in the parliament.
