ISLAMABAD: In the face of court orders, the Islamabad Police didn’t register First Information Report (FIR) against Jang Group owner Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman and journalist Amir Mir, ARY News reported on Sunday.

Instead of following court’s directives to register case against the two, Islamabad Police kept plaintiff Arshad Butt confined in Police station for two hours, when he announced to commit suicide for not getting justice.

On release Arshad Butt raise voice against the injustice, Police arrested the plaintiff and kept him confined once again in the police station till late hours but didn’t register the FIR.

Sources informed that, a reporter of GEO News pressurized Arshad Butt in the police station to withdraw his stance asking irrelevant questions.

It is pertinent to mention that a session’s court in Islamabad had ordered SHO Margala on Saturday for registration of FIR Mir Shakeel-ur-Rehman and Amir Mir, brother of Hamid Mir, for leveling false allegations against army and Inter Services Intelligence (ISI).

The top government ministry compelled police not to lodge any case by Monday. Delay will allow Amir Mir and Mir Shakeel to acquire stay order for preventing legal proceedings, or perhaps arrest, for the time being, sources said.
