Negotiations can't advance until Taliban announce ceasefire: Siddiqui

ISLAMABAD: Government's team for peace talks has mentioned that the negotiations process cannot advance until Taliban announce a ceasefire and insure to abide by it – ARY News reports.

Coordinator of negotiations team and Advisor to the Prime Minister, Irfan Siddiqui in his exclusive word with ARY News, told that the dialogue process has not been abandoned and there is no restriction on both the committee to consult each other, yet until Taliban do not demonstrate a serious move towards the restoration of peace, dialogue process will not advance.

He stated that a meeting is held in the day and following night, people are killed, this way peace cannot be restored.

The Government committee told that Taliban will have to quit their activities, whilst there is no complain regarding the Taliban nominated committee for talks, nor have any doubt on its sincerity.

Siddiqui reaffirmed that both the committees are still working for the sake of peace.
