Negotiations with Taliban Pakistan's internal matter: FO

ISLAMABAD: The Foreign Office (FO) of Pakistan has clarified that negotiations with Taliban is an internal matter of Pakistan and nobody has a right to interfere in it internal affairs – ARY News reports.

In a statement issued on Thursday, the FO Spokesperson, Tasneem Aslam said that nobody has a right to interfere in internal matters of Pakistan. She told that negotiations with Taliban is an inner matter of Pakistan, Afghanistan has also been holding talks with Taliban and Haqqani Network.

She stated that Pakistan welcomes Afghan elections and continuity of democracy there is important for the region, and Pakistan will also strengthen its ties with the new Afghan Government.

Elaborating on Pakistan's relations with Russia, Tasneem said that positive advancements are taking place in this regard and both the states are also working on different economic projects.

She added that Pakistan and Iran have friendly terms with each other; however the date of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's visit to Iran has not been fixed, so far.

The FO Spokesperson further mentioned that Pakistan will also extend its ties with the newly elected Government in India.
