TOP NEWS

CHITTAGONG: Netherlands has defeated England by 45 runs in their final game of the 2014 World T20 game in Chittagong, ARY News reported.

Dutch’s side totally outplayed England hammering them by huge margin of 45 runs. Netherland has claimed their second victory from two meetings.

This is the second time Netherlands has defeated England, early they stood victorious in 2009.

Chasing the target of 134, England did not get to grips with this wicket at all and got all out for 88 in 17.4 overs.

English batsmen tried to play the big strokes and as a result kept on losing wickets.

Only three England’s batsmen scored in double figures, namely Alex Hales (12), Ravi Bopara (18) and Chris Jordan (14).

Mudassar Bukhari, who took three wickets, was rewarded by Man of the Match award.

Earlier Netherlands batting first scored 133 runs in 20 overs .

Wesley Barresi was the top scorer for Dutch with 48 runs that came off in 45 balls.

Stephan Myburgh contributed 39 runs from 31 balls while Michael Swart scored 13 runs from 15 balls.

England’s captain Stuart Broad took three wickets whereas Ravi Bopara and Chris Jordan grabbed one wicket each.

Netherlands made history with the fastest T20 chase in the first round to qualify ahead of Ireland as the only Associate in the Super 10 stage, knocking out Zimbabwe in the process. They were then bowled out for 39 by Sri Lanka, this time setting a record low, but then fell narrowly short of beating South Africa before pushing New Zealand hard on Saturday. Those performances have restored confidence after a backlash to being skittled by Sri Lanka.

And finally Netherlands has ended the World T20 on a positive note by defeating England with brilliant performance.
