Australia, winning the toss and opting to bat first, scored 103/8 in their 20 overs. Ellyse Perry was the top scorer for the team with her knock of 42 runs, which included three fours and a six.

Jess Jonassen made 23 runs while Beth Mooney and Alex Blackwell made 15 and 10 runs respectively for the side.

Leigh Kasperek grabbed three wickets for New Zealand while Erin Bermingham took two wickets. Sophie Devine and Amy Satterthwaite dismissed one Australian batswomen each.

The Blackcaps, chasing 104 runs to win, reached the target in 16.2 overs and six wickets to spare.

Rachel Priest was the top scorer for New Zealand as she made 34 runs from 27 balls with four boundaries and a six to her while Suzie Bates scored 23 runs from 25 balls after hitting a four and a maximum.

Sophie Devine and Amy Satterthwaite scored 17 and 16 runs for their team.
Australian bowlers Kristen Beams, Erin Osborne and Lauren Cheatle grabbed a wicket each.
