HAMILTON: New Zealand clinched test series against West Indies by 2-0 with the 8 wickets win in the third test on Sunday at at Seddon Park, Hamilton, ARY News reported.
New Zealand suffered few alarms while chasing 124 losing early wicket at 33 but controlled the inning for their first series victory over a top-eight nation since they beat the same opposition in 2006.
Kane Williamson provided the main contribution, with an elegant 56, while Hamish Rutherford was unbeaten on 48, having been required to fight a little harder.
Ross Taylor was declared man of the match for his ton in the first inning scoring 131.
Tim Southee took overall 7 wickets in the third test match, four in the first and three in second.
The first ODI of 5-mathch series will be played on December 26 at Eden Park, Auckland.
