ISLAMABAD: Pakistan will become the hub of regional trade after the completion of the under-construction motorways and highways projects in next few years, a National Highway Authority (NHA) official said on Saturday.

General Manager (Design) Asim Amin during an interview said that NHA has been tasked by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to complete the ongoing road projects at the earliest.

He said completion of ongoing projects will help end the sense of deprivation among the people, as most of them are being completed in less developed areas particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

He said the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor is the name of building roads from Khunjerab to Gwadar, and it is the objective of the NHA to develop high speed north-south economic corridor and enhance regional connectivity.
