NIC, Passport should be issued to Altaf Hussain: Sindh Cabinet
KARACHI: Sindh Cabinet on Saturday unanimously approved a resolution against non issuance of National Identity Card (NIC) and Passport to MQM’s Chief Altaf Hussain, ARY News reported.
Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah said getting NIC and Passport issued is the constitutional right of Altaf Hussain.
MQM Ministers presented a resolution in the cabinet. During an appeal was made to the federal to issue the matter on priority basis without any negligence.
Earlier, Rabita Committee of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) warned for a countrywide protest if Altaf Hussain kept deprived from his basic right.
“There will be a nationwide protest, which government can’t restrict if Altaf Hussain doesn’t get his fundamental right”, it stated.
The MQM RC appealed President Mamnoon Hussain, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan to take serious notice of the matter.
