Nine of a family die in Rawalpindi building collapse

According to details, a residential building in Saddar Wah Cantt area of Rawalpindi caved in due to heavy rain killing nine members of a family.

Rescue agencies reached to the spot as soon as the news arrived and recovered ten injured from the rubble including three children.

Nine people died in the sad incident identified as Sadia, Sapna, Syed Nazeer, Mumtaz, Bagh Sultana, Shumaila Nazeer and Ahmed Nazeer.

A Nine year old girl named Fatima was also recovered from the rubble during the rescue operation which took almost 10 hours.

Initial reports suggest that substandard building material was used in the construction of the building.

Pakistan Army, Police and aid workers from Edhi and other welfare agencies took part in the rescue operation.
