Nisar calls meeting government's negotiating committee

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has summoned a meeting of government committee for negotiations with Taliban on Thursday, ARY News reported.

Government committee will give briefing to Interior Minister about their talks with Taliban’s consultative committee, sources said.

They will also discuss the future strategy regarding talks with Taliban as well as review Taliban’s conditions and demands.

The negotiations between the Taliban Shura (council) and the government committee for peace talks ended on Wednesday an undisclosed in Waziristan.

The meeting discussed extension in ceasefire and release of prisoners.

According to sources, the Taliban shura have laid three demands before the government. They include; halting of drone attacks, end to military operation and announcement of time-frame for release of Taliban prisoners.
