ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has termed the declaration of negotiating team by Taliban a positive development, ARY News reported on Sunday.
In a statement issued on Sunday, Chaudary Nisar said still some matters are needed to be explained and as soon these matters resolved the dialogue will begin formally.
He said it is a source of great pleasure that negotiating committees from both sides have been declared after years.
“This is a clear sign that both sides have serious intention and wish to attain peace through dialogue”, Nisar added.
The Minister said the committee‚ announced by the government‚ has been given full mandate and authority to hold dialogue; however it is needed to be explained that what is the mandate of committee announced by Taliban and to which extent they are bound to follow decisions made by committee.
Nisar said the government will announce its way forward after having consultation with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday.
He thanked the renowned Ulema by saying that once again Ulema have played essential role for the brotherhood and peace by raising their voice.
Nisar said in order to carry the process of negotiations, combined efforts of political leadership and religious leaders is mandatory.
