Nisar says Save the Children office not yet reopened

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan Monday told that the office of ‘Save the Children’ has not been reopened, adding that several NGOs were barred from operating in the country during past one-and-a-half year, ARY News reported.

Speaking to media, Chaudhry Nisar said as such there is no law applicable to the working procedures of non-government organizations (NGOs) in Pakistan, while in past one-and-a-half year several NGOs were barred from operating.

He said that the government will cooperate with the NGOs doing a good job.

“We have classified all the NGOs in separate categories, those working in the right direction are being kept in the Green category,” told the interior minister. The NGOs falling in the Blue category are characterized as working in contrast with the terms of agreement.”
