Nisar urges media to avoid ‘premature’ conclusion of Axact scam

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said on Wednesday that New York Times report regarding Axact scam is susceptible and the issue will be investigated deeply, ARY News reported.

Speaking to a press conference in Islamabad, Chaudhry Nisar said he has already ordered an inquiry by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) which is being carried out by its seven member committee representing cyber and corporate wings.

“Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and Security Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) have been asked to provide revenue details of Axact”, he added.

The Minister urged media including New York Times not to create hype and jump to conclusions and instead wait for the on-going investigations to complete.

About Safoora Goth massacre, he said that some of those involved in killing of people from Ismaeli community in Karachi have been arrested including its master-mind.

Nisar termed grabbing of chief culprits of tragedy within few days of as a big achievement.

“This is because of the superb performance of our security and intelligence agencies”, he added.

The Interior Minister said it is now known who was behind the tragedy, who hatched the conspiracy and where it was planned.
