PM records statement with FIA in Asghar Khan case

Addressing a press conference here, the interior minister said abusing opponents was not the politics.

He said the government provided all facilities [in the by-elections] as demanded by the PTI chief Imran Khan.

The minister also informed that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had recorded his statement with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in the Asghar Khan case relating to distribution of Rs140 million among components of an anti-PPP alliance of parties prior to the 1990 elections.

Khan said he hoped there would be progress in the case.

He underlined that Ministry of Interior stays in direct coordination with army, General Headquarters and civil armed forces. He said the ministry was not bound to reach aforementioned institutions through Defence Ministry.

Regarding Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s upcoming visit to the US, he said PM will also raise the issue of RAW involvement in Pakistan during his visit to the United States.
