FIR of Safoora Chowrangi attack filed after 48 hours

KARACHI: The FIR of Wednesday’s terrorist attack on a bus of Ismaili community at Safoora Chowrangi in Karachi was registered at Sachal police station after 48 hours of the incident on Friday (today), ARY News reports.

The First Investigation Report (FIR) of the attack was sealed after registration of the case.

SSP Malir, the chief of the area police, has said that the FIR has been sealed due to the sensitive nature of the case, as the details of the complaint could not be disclosed.

Earlier, police officials said that no relative of the deceased have come forward to register the complaint of the deadly attack in which 47 people were killed.

The crime spot comes in the jurisdiction of Sachal police station in Malir district of Karachi.

Police officials had said that they want registration of the case on the complaint of the family members of the victims of terrorist attack.

Police sources said that the sketches of the attackers being prepared with the help of the eyewitnesses of the incident.

The death toll in the attack on a bus by armed assailants reached to 47 as two injured of the incident succumbed to their injuries in hospitals on Thursday.

According to eyewitness accounts six gunmen stopped a bus carrying the members of Ismaili community near Safoora Chowrangi in Karachi and  sprayed it with bullets from both sides.
