No loadshedding in 94pc areas of country during Sehr, Iftar, claims minister

ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali has claimed that the government is ensuring uninterrupted supply of electricity to 94 per cent area of the country during Sehr and Iftar times.

Ali stated this while responding to a call attention notice moved by Mian Muhammad Ateeq Shaikh in the Senate on Wednesday.

He was of the view that it is utmost effort of the government to fully facilitate the people in the holy month of Ramazan.

He said that no forced loadshedding was being carried out except in areas where percentage of losses is more than 60 per cent.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has vowed that menace of loadshedding would end by 2018. Minister for Defence Khwaja Asif and other ruling PML-N ministers have also claimed that the issue will be eliminated in next two years.
