Speaking at a session of the National Assembly (NA), Interior Ministry Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan said that military was used by the past governments for achieving political objectives but now it is being called to curb terrorism.
“Politicians should avoid giving statements citing mini-martial law. Imposition of Article 245 of the constitution is necessary for providing legal cover to the army”, Nisar said.
Interior Minister added that Pakistan Army is protecting Rawalpindi and Faisalabad airports and added that the government plans to deploy the military at Karachi and Peshawar airports as well.
“Criticism aside but hiding facts is wrong”, Nisar added.
