LAHORE: Law Minister Punjab, Rana Sanaullah has said that as per the directives of the Lahore High Court (LHC) nobody shall be allowed to take out a rally on the Mall Road on December 22 – ARY News reports.
Talking to media after inaugurating an art exhibition here on Thursday, Rana Sanaullah told that the LHC has banned rallies, processions and public meetings at the Mall Road upon the request of the traders settled there and the provincial government will insure the implementation of judicial orders.
He said that stern security arrangements will be made on the Urs of Hazrat Data Ganj Baksh, Chehlum Imam Hussain (RA) and upon the arrival of the Turk Prime Minister here. He added that the matter of taking out the procession or not has been left onto the Ulema.
The Law Minister further stated that terrorist activity and target-killing is not possible without the elements facilitating such heinous acts and the Punjab Government is making efforts to root-out such factors.
Earlier, the PTI Chairman, Imran Khan had announced to stage a protest demonstration on December 22 on Mall Road Lahore against increasing inflation in the state.
Jamat e Islami (JI) and Awami Muslim League (AML) had declared to support the PTI's protest.
