According to details, PM Sharif announced that private school fees will not be allowed to be raised in 2015.

He instructed the Ministry of Education and Capital Administration & Development (CAD) to consult all stake-holders regarding the matter.

It should be noted here that private schools all over the country had raised fees as per their own choices putting an enormous burden on parents of students, as the fees were increased from 10 per cent to as much as 60 per cent, in August.

Following this, students and parents as well as social activists have been holding demonstrations against unjust hike in school fees.

Taking a tough stance on the issue, Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif had barred private schools from increasing fees, however the Sindh government had allowed them to raise it by 10 per cent.
