No written agreement on drone strikes, claims Shah Mehmood

MULTAN: Shah Mehmood Qureshi, central representative of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), has said that he and PTI Chairman Imran Khan will present the stance of Pakistan in the National Assembly (NA) after meeting ambassadors of countries including NATO – ARY News reports.

While holding a press conference with Qari Hanif Jalandhari at Madressah Wafaaqul Madris here on Sunday, he said that the killing of people in the mosque and the non arrest of the accused people has proven the negligence of the police officers.

The steps taken by the Punjab Government was insufficient in arresting the people behind the incident. He urged that strict action should be taken against the negligent officers.

Speaking on the drone attacks, Shah Mehmood Qureshi stated that no written agreement was made on the issue. The responsibility of stopping the attacks lies with the Federal Government.

While speaking on the ties with United States of America, PTI representative said that they want good relationships with the US but they desire friendship from the country instead of slavery. He added that the NATO supplies were stopped after their patience was tested frequently. They have not stopped Afghani transit trade and the arrival and departure of common man, Shah Mehmood claimed.

He added that they want to promote peace and stability between Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Shah Mehmood Qureshi further claimed that United States issued an apology within 24 after Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai told them to. He added that the blood of Pakistan people is cheap compared to the Afghanis.

Earlier, Qari Hanif said that Islam is a religion of peace and love. The religious cemeteries have nothing to do with extremism and terrorism. The Ulemas have played their role in stopping the unrest of Rawalpindi Incident in the entire country.

The confidence of the people is rising on the cemeteries. He urged that the peace talks with Taliban should be held immediately.
