NSA spying on Pakistan among 193 countries

WASHINGTON: US spy agency, National Security Agency (NSA) is authorized to stake out 193 countries and political parties including Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), says a classified document revealed by former CIA director, reports ARY News.

Former official of Central Investigation Agency of the US Edward Snowden released the classified documents to the media which divulges that US court had allowed NSA to spy on 193 countries including Pakistan and India.

According to foreign media, the NSA is authorized to spy on aforementioned number of countries under  a 2010 certification approved by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISA).

The list of political parties being spied on includes PPP from Pakistan and Bhartia Janata Party from India. The list also includes the Amal movement of Lebanon, Bolivaria Continental Coordinator, Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood and the National Salvation Front.

Besides foreign countries, governments and political organisations NSA was also authorised to spy on international bodies such as the UN, the International Atomic Energy Agency, the World Bank, the International Monetary Fund, the Asian Development Bank and many others.
