Oman, Pakistan agree to enhance mutual cooperation

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Oman have agreed to further strengthen mutual cooperation especially in the fields of economy, trade, manpower, defence, security and counter-terrorism.

The understanding came during fifth round of Pak-Oman Bilateral Political Consultations in Islamabad today.

The two sides reiterated their commitment to further intensify cooperation in multilateral forums.

Views were also exchanged on regional and international issues of mutual interest and concern, including situation in Yemen and its implications for regional peace and stability.

Foreign Secretary Aizaz Ahmad Chaudhry led the Pakistan delegation while Oman’s side was led by Under Secretary of Foreign Affairs for Diplomatic Affairs Ahmed bin Yousuf bin Obaid Al Harthy.
