MITHI: The government measures and initiatives to cope with Tharparkar calamity are seemingly too short to succeed as another child died of famine in the district, taking the death toll to 201, ARY News reported Wednesday.
A four-year-old boy breathed his last at a hospital in Mithi. The boy was suffering from gastro, following a famine-like situation in the district.
Following another death, Secretary Health Iqbal Durrani galvanized into action and sacked 99 doctors who were found negligent in their duties.
He also issued show-cause notice to 400 other doctors. He said action will be taken against doctors issuing misleading statements.
