One killed, several injured in road accidents as dense fog limits visibility in Punjab

LAHORE: Foggy weather conditions continued to envelop the most of Punjab plains on Thursday morning, affecting the visibility range and causing problems for normal life.

At least one person was killed and several others were injured in different traffic accidents owing to poor visibility caused by dense fog enveloped various parts of Punjab.

In a traffic mishap, as many as 10 vehicles crashed into each other on Kasur Road in Lahore, leaving scores of persons injured.

In another incident, a man – whose identification couldn’t be ascertained – was killed in a road accident in Toba Tek Singh.

Separately, several people sustained injuries when a passenger van and a bus turned turtle in Rahim Yar Khan and Sheikhupura respectively.

Moreover, various sections of the Motorway were closed for all kind of vehicular traffic due to poor visibility caused by dense fog. The Motorway Police in an advisory told commuters and vehicle drivers to drive vehicles cautiously on the road and turn on fog lights while driving.

On the other hand, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has also predicted heavy fog in upper areas of Sindh.
