Operation in North Waziristan was necessary: Abdul Qadir

KARACHI: The Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions, Abdul Qadir Baloch has said operation against militants in North Waziristan was necessary, ARY News reported.

Speaking to traders at Karachi Federation House, Baloch said registration of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) was underway, adding the entire nation would be required to assist the displaced persons.

Operation in North Waziristan was necessary. Country cannot progress without restoring peace, he maintained.

The minister said armed forces eliminated hideout of militants in NWA. He said IDPs needed over 0.1 million cloths, fans, water coolers and tents. Currently we are providing Rs 23,000 each IDP family while those who have lost their homes are being paid Rs 0.4 million. The owner of houses that are partially damaged will be paid Rs 0.2 million, added the minister.

He said all the process was being conducted in a transparent manner.
