Operational Committee decides to speed up Karachi operation

KARACHI: The operational committee, headed by Director General Rangers, has deliberated over the increasing targeted killings in Karachi, ARY News reported on Tuesday. 

A meeting of the operational committee with D.G. Rangers Maj. Gen. Rizwan Akhtar in chair, decided to speed up targeted operations against criminals in the city, Rangers sources said.

In the new wave of targeted killings six persons were murdered in Karachi on Monday.

The committee also devised a new strategy to curb killings in the city.

The meeting was attended by Additional I.G. Karachi Shahid Hayat, sector commanders of Rangers, Zonal DIGs of Police and representatives of secret agencies attended the meeting.

A spokesman of Rangers, talking to media said that the operational committee has decided to speed up the operation, adding that the militant wings of some political parties have been involved in targeted killings in the city and want to spread lawlessness in Karachi. Some conspirators want to sabotage targeted operation in the city but the law enforcement agencies will foil their designs, he added.
