LAHORE: Ameer Jamat e Islami (JI), Syed Munawwar Hassan has said that the restoration of peace in the state in only possible through successful peace talks, whilst secular lobby is paving ways for a military operation instead of negotiations – ARY News reports.

In a statement issued on Monday, Munawwar Hassan claimed that the ones supporting a military offensive are indeed talking against Shariah, secular forces in the country have their own agenda.

He stated that in Pakistan several experiments of military operation were carried out and their results were also faced and for this reason Pakistan also broke into 2 parts.

The JI Ameer said that neither Shariah can be implemented through might, nor can peace be restored via bombing through jets.

He added that use of force should be opposed, but Shariah should not be, in fact the Shariah is much needed for leading the circumstances into right direction.

Munawwar said that military operation and use of force cannot resolve issues and opposing a military offensive is indeed supporting the military.
