KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Muslim League-Functional and Muslim League-Nawaz on Tuesday submitted requisition in Sindh Assembly secretariat for the assembly session over Sindh Local Government (third amendment) Ordinance, 2013 and delimitation of constituencies, ARY News reports.
Pakistan Tehreek i Insaf members opted not to sign the requisition of the opposition parties for the assembly session.
MQM leaders Sardar Ahmed termed the amended local government law as illegal and an anti-Sindh ploy.
PML-F and PML-N leaders Jam Madad Ali and Irfanullah Marwat called the new local government ordinance as unlawful and a ploy to rig the polls.
Moreover, MQM members in National Assembly staged walkout from the assembly to protest against new local government ordinance and new delimitations in Sindh.
“The law will wide the rural-urban divide in the province,” MQM member Abdul Rasheed Godel said.
The members of MQM staged a protest demonstration outside the parliament building in Islamabad.
