Opposition walks out of Senate proceedings
ISLAMABAD: Opposition parties in the Senate walked out from the Senate's proceedings for not receiving detailed answer of the questions raised in the session, ARY News reports on Friday.
The session was chaired by Chairman Senate Nayyar Hussain Bukhari.
Exchange of heated words were witnessed between Senator Aitzaz Ahsan and Federal Railways Minister Khwaja Saad Rafiq when the Chairman National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) Tariq Malik issue was raised. The situation got so intense that the Federal Information Minister Pervez Rasheed had to interfere in between.
Aitzaz Ahsan had claimed that Tariq Malik was forced to leave office and his daughter was threatened as well. Khwaja Saad Rafiq started retaliating and a huge ruckus was caused in the House.
"A coloumn was printed in a newspaper regarding the removal of Tariq Malik as Chairman NADRA and the reply to the coloumn was printed in the same newspaper as well. Aitzaz Ahsan should have read the reply as well", Pervez Rasheed said while interfering between the two.
Earlier, Senate members had demanded the federal government to ensure that Ministers are present in the House to provide detailed answers of their questions.
