Bin Laden's third death anniversary today
KARACHI: The third anniversary of Al-Qaeda supremo Osama Bin Laden marked today, who was killed in a military operation by the special forces of United States special forces in Abbottabad, ARY News reported on Friday.
Special commandos of the US Army in a clandestine operation on May 2nd,2011, killed Bin Laden at his residential compound in Abbotabad.
A helicopter of the US Army had also crashed during the operation.
The government of Pakistan formed a probe to investigate into the US surprize raid at the hideout of Osama Bin Laden. The inquiry named Abbotabad Commission, was headed by Justice Javed Iqbal. The commission paid a visit to the compound and recorded statements of the common people, eye witnesses and the government officers.
After gathering evidence from the place by the investigation agencies, Bin Laden's compound was razed to ground and the property was handed over to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government. The property has become a play ground for the children of the neighborhood now.
Even after three years passed to the incident, the people of the area still don't believe that Bin Laden, who was hounded by the secret agencies of several governments of the world for years, was their neighbor.
