ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Ali Muhammad Khan informed the Senate on Wednesday that nine thousand Baloch youths were provided jobs under Aghaz-e-Haqooq Balochistan package, ARY News reported.

Responding to a calling attention notice in the Senate, the minister said that over nine thousand vacant posts have been filled out of more than 13,100  allocated for the province.

The minister added that there are four thousand vacancies yet to be filled, after which quota of Balochistan will be fulfilled.

Ali Muhammad Khan maintained that the PTI government will strive to give Baloch youth jobs according to the province’s size and quota.

The calling attention notice was moved by Senator Muhammad Akram.

Speaking on Finance Supplementary (Amendment) Bill, 2018, Senator Javed Abbasi of PML-N said the government introduced new taxes and increased the prices of gas which will hurt common man of the country.

He particularly criticized the decision of cuts in Public Sector Development Program, terming it unfair to the people of Pakistan.

PPP Senator Sherry Rehman too criticized the finance bill and said that PTI is resorting to “Chandanomics” to run country.

“If it were us (the PPP) who brought this sort of finance bill, you (PTI) would have raised a lot of hue and cry about how poor people have been burdened, tax-payers have been wronged and non-filers are awarded,” said Sherry Rehman.

The house has been adjourned to meet again on Friday at 10.30 a.m.
